The Wright Center for Women’s Health donates $250 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on behalf of our Exceptional Staff Member of the month Linsey!

Here is what Linsey said when we asked why she chose the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation..

I chose the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to donate to because I have close family and friends who are affected by this disease.  Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.  There are a lot of unknowns with Cystic Fibrosis and a lot of research that needs to be done.  There are more than 1,700 known mutations of the disease.  Not every DNA sequence is in the database and every year 1,000 new cases of CF are diagnosed. There is still no cure for CF.  Hopefully this donation will help to advance the understanding of this disease, create new treatments, and eventually find a cure.
