October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so The Wright Center for Women’s Health wants to spread the word that early detection saves lives! A simple blood test could save your life, but not if you don’t know about it.

Did you know:
– Each year approximately 232,000 women are diagnosed with Breast Cancer
– Approximately 10% of all Breast Cancer is due to an inherited genetic mutation (like BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations)
– Detecting genetic mutations can help prevent a deadly Breast Cancer diagnosis

Knowledge is power! Those with a personal or family history of certain histories of cancers may be at increased risk for Hereditary Cancers. Take this 30-second quiz to see if you might be at risk for Hereditary Breast Cancer.

Exceptional Staff Member of the Month!

Exceptional Staff Member of the Month: LaDonna Wright! As you many of you know, LaDonna is an awesome Physician Assistant! One of her patient’s had this to say about her and the practice: Let’s be honest, nobody looks forward to their yearly pap. In the past (at other offices), I experienced cold, careless staff members, practioners who would rush through exams (ouch!), and would get upset when I refused the gardisil shot and birth control pills. This was certainly not the case here. I was greeted with a smile, offered a beverage, and once it was time for my exam with LaDonna, she took her time and was very gentile. She respected my wish to not be put on birth control, which I appreciated. I’m extremely happy I found this practice and I look forward to being a patient for years to come.

Horray! Congrats LaDonna!!!
